Federation Learning Day at Long Marston 2022
Christmas tree switch on - December 2020
Science Day - March 10th 2020
We held a joint Science Day with Kirk Hammerton School to celebrate Science Week 2020. We carried out all sorts of interesting activities, and were lucky to be visited by Mrs Astill, a doctor who answered lots of our questions about the human body and our health.
Community Christmas Coffee Morning
Our community coffee morning just before Christmas was a roaring success! It was busier than we have ever seen it before, and it was lovely that parents, grandparents and the local villagers were able to come along and join us. The children enjoyed coming in and sharing the festivities with everyone, and treated the guests to a few Christmas songs. A big thank you to Friends of Staveley School (FOSS) for organising and running the event.
Analog Gaming Tournament
On the 13th March, 16 children from Years 4 & 5, across the Federation, were invited to take part in an inter-school analog gaming competition that Imagination Gaming were running at the Airecon Convention in Harrogate.
The children learned how to play 5 different games in the morning - one literacy based, one maths based, one strategy/memory based and two that needed speedy reflexes (Rat-a-tat Cat, PDQ, City of Zombie, Jungle Speed and Fruit Punch ).
In the afternoon, they took part in a tournament using these games against other schools from the Harrogate area. They also had the opportunity to explore the convention and play a selection of other games, including large scale ones. A great time was had by all!

What a range of amazing outfits! With Mr Howson on the microphone and the catwalk set up, it was just like Paris fashion week!
